Elena Milliken '26

Bio/Description

My name is Elena Milliken '26 and I am from Philadelphia, PA. I am a senior, majoring in Anthropology and working toward a certificate in Theater and Spanish. On campus I spend most of my time either in Theatre Intime, the Lewis Center for the Arts (LCA), or running up Elm in between the two. I've been on Intime board since the winter of freshman year and it has become one of my favorite communities on campus. I spend my Saturday mornings eating pastries with Trenton Arts at Princeton and learning from/with some really cool high schoolers. I also tried out a bunch of random clubs at the start of college (Students for Prison Education, Abolition, and Reform, Matriculate, Climbing) and I'm happy to talk about any of them with you! .

When I get some down time, I can usually be found at Coffee Club, listening to a student performer sing, and gabbing with my friends. If I plan enough in advance, I love going to the NCW Ceramics Studio and throwing something on the wheel that I will probably forget to glaze. If the weather is nice, sitting in Palmer Square with fresh Bent Spoon ice cream is definitely a highlight.

My favorite memories from my first year at Princeton were absolutely with my zee group in our common room. We were constantly coming up with weird things to do. One time, we decided to do the “hot ones” challenge (sampling hot sauces that get spicier and spicier as you go). We all ended up on the floor laughing (and crying), grabbing our stomachs and trying not to throw up. It was definitely a bonding moment and the pain didn't stop us from trying something stranger the next week.

When I am not doing my best, I like to see the people I love doing things they love to do. My weekends are spent front row at dance shows, concerts, and performances because cheering for them always manages to make me feel better. I'm also a big believer that a little walk in nature can fix most problems, so I like going down to the towpath and listening to a podcast for a bit. The many resources at Princeton are there to help you when things get tough. There are really so many wonderful people on campus dedicated to making our time here as great as it can be. From my professors to the wonderful staff at the health center, each time I've gone to someone for help, they have been so receptive and caring. Come talk to me about accommodations, how to talk to professors, and how to support your needs!
